Nadia Khan mocks Mann Mast Malang plotline, clips goes viral
TV host and actress Nadia Khan has poked fun at a plotline from the drama Mann Mast Malang, particularly its repeated use of a pregnancy-related dialogue.
Speaking on her show Kya Drama Hai, Nadia described the excessive repetition of the phrase “she’s pregnant” as a “faux pregnancy operation.” According to her, the line was used in as many as 56 episodes.
“It felt like a faux pregnancy operation,” she joked, drawing laughter from her co-hosts.
Nadia’s remarks drew mixed reactions online. While many viewers agreed with her critique and criticised the drama for its unrealistic and prolonged storyline, others felt the comment trivialised a sensitive subject.
Produced by 7th Sky Entertainment and directed by Ali Faizan, Mann Mast Malang features a compelling love story set against the backdrop of a longstanding family rivalry.
The narrative centres on Kabir (played by Danish Taimoor) and Riya (Sahar Hashmi), whose childhood engagement is shattered by a tragic event that turns their families into enemies. Years later, fate reconnects them—this time as adversaries.
Industry veterans such as Saba Hameed, Uzma Hassan, Adnan Samad Khan, and Nayyar Ejaz round out the cast.
The show’s emotionally intense and sometimes dramatic scenes – including handcuffing, contentious romantic gestures, and depictions of smoking – have sparked debate about cultural boundaries on Pakistani television, with some comparing it to Bollywood’s Kabir Singh.
Despite being marketed as a ‘family drama,’ critics argue that Mann Mast Malang crosses moral boundaries, raising questions about content regulation in Pakistan.
Even with a ban on Pakistani dramas in India, fans across the border remain vocal about missing episodes, prompting calls for international access. The show has amassed over 600 million views on YouTube, reflecting its widespread popularity.
