Nawaz Sharif’s meeting with Imran Khan out of question, says Ishaq Dar
Deputy PM says PPP has not expressed desire to join cabinet
Terming the meeting between three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif and the former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan merely a ‘rumour', Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (FM) Ishaq Dar said on Saturday it might be somebody’s desire but there was no truth in it, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking to the media at Data Darbar in Lahore, the deputy prime minister said that Nawaz did not need to meet anybody.
He said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had not yet shown any desire to join the federal cabinet. “PPP is an ally of the PML-N in the Center and will remain so.”
“The government now enjoys a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly (NA),” he added.
The FM said Pakistan inflicted a humiliating defeat on India on the night between May 9 and May 10. “Pakistan downed six planes of the Indian Air Force,” he said, and added, “The hostile neighbour will never forget the lesson Pakistan taught it.”
Regarding Israel’s aggression against Iran, he said that Pakistan strongly condemned it. Iran has now realized that Pakistan is its true friend.”
Iran’s parliament, the deputy PM went on to say, said thank you to Pakistan for its support during the war with Israel.
Dar said that there was now prosperity in the country due to a reduction in the price hike. “Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has endeavored to improve the country’s economy. Pakistan will now progress,” he said, adding, “We sacrificed our politics for the sake of the country.”
