Karachi Matric Board Chairman resigns ‘to avoid punishment’
Karachi Matriculation Board Chairman Ghulam Hussain Soho resigned from his post in what appeared to be an attempt “to avoid punishment” for irregularities in matric exams, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The investigation committee suspended the chairman and recommended criminal action against him in anti-corruption department.
In case of suspension, Ghulam Hussain Soho will not be able to go to his original department, the Federal Board of Education.
He resigned from the post to avoid suspension in Karachi Board and continue working in the Federal Board.
Chairman Ghulam Hussain Soho had sent his resignation to the Secretary Boards Department Sindh.
The secretary will send the resignation to the controlling authority Sindh Chief Minister through the Minister Boards.
The controlling authority will decide whether to punish him or accept the resignation.
