Govt resumes talks with TTP, agrees on ceasefire

The government resumed negotiations with the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and both sides agreed on a ceasefire.
The 24News HD TV channel reported Friday that the talks between Pakistan and TTP were resumed with the facilitation of the interim Afghan government of the Taliban.
According to the well-placed sources in the government, talks had been started and both sides were agreed on a ceasefire that would be extended in view of the progress of the negotiations.
The sources said that the talks would focus on the supremacy of the Constitution of Pakistan, the sovereignty of the state and national security while peace, social and economic stability in the affected areas would also be taken into account.
