Covid-19 claims life of another doctor

Covid-19 claimed the life of another doctor in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday. Prof Dr Anwar Ali Shah was admitted to a hospital after catching the infection. A total of 26 doctors died from coronavirus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while 40 medics died during anti-corona combat.
He was a professor of biochemistry Khyber Medical College. The provincial doctors association demanded the government take steps to ensure doctors safety.
The association said the government has not given martyr package to any doctor who died from the infection while performing duty in the hospital. The association also demanded payment of health risk allowance to medical practitioners.
The second wave of the pandemic is taking a high toll on medical professionals. Some 3,000 health workers into isolation across Pakistan, A list prepared by the Pakistan Medical Association shows that six of the 10 doctors died on a single day (Nov 29) in Karachi, Lahore and Multan.
