Miley Cyrus bold public appearance takes internet by storm
Pop star Miley Cyrus turned heads in New York City this week as she stepped out of her hotel in a bold black dress to sign autographs for fans.
The 32-year-old former Hannah Montana star left little to the imagination, flaunting her figure in a sheer black frock.
With her blonde hair styled in an elegant up-do and wearing oversized sunglasses to shield herself from the paparazzi flash, Miley exuded effortless glam.
Armed with a blue marker, the Wrecking Ball hitmaker smiled and interacted warmly with fans who had gathered outside her Manhattan hotel. Her public appearance came shortly after a special performance at Rough Trade Below at Rockefeller Centre, where she sang tracks from her new album, Something Beautiful, released on May 30.
Despite the intimate concert being a treat for fans, Miley has now confirmed she has no plans to embark on a full tour again.
In a recent candid interview with DJ Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Miley revealed she has been diagnosed with a large vocal cord polyp and a condition known as Reinke’s edema. These issues affect her voice, making the demands of touring nearly impossible.
"I have this very large polyp on my vocal cord, which has given me a lot of the tone and texture that made me who I am," Miley said. "But it’s extremely difficult to perform with — it’s like running a marathon with ankle weights on."
She added that while her raspy voice is now a signature part of her brand, she’s unwilling to undergo surgery to remove the polyp. “The chance of waking up from surgery and not sounding like myself is a probability I’m not willing to risk,” she said.
Miley’s appearance and musical comeback also arrive amid ongoing family tension. The singer recently addressed her estranged relationship with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, following his split from Miley’s mother, Tish, in 2023 after a 30-year marriage.
Now reportedly dating actress Elizabeth Hurley, Billy Ray’s new relationship has added strain to the father-daughter dynamic. However, Miley told the press, “I’m being an adult about it,” choosing to stay focused on her career and health.
After her electric New York performance, Miley also made a stylish appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, keeping the momentum of her new musical era alive, albeit without a tour in sight.
