Anwar Maqsood gifts hand-drawn mural to newly-opened restaurant
Pakistani literary icon Anwar Maqsood has once again proven that creativity knows no boundaries.
A video shared by Adnan Siddiqui shows the legendary writer, satirist and painter creating a mural directly onto a restaurant wall during a visit to celebrate the launch of a new eatery.
Rather than arriving with flowers or gifts, Anwar Maqsood came armed with a marker.
The video captures the entire artistic process, from sketching guide lines on the wall to gradually bringing a stylized female portrait to life.
The mural features a woman surrounded by decorative elements including flowers, vases, bottles and teacups, all drawn in Anwar Maqsood's style.
He even added details, shading and finishing touches before signing the artwork with his name and the date, "2-June-26."
Sharing the video, Adnan Siddiqui wrote in caption that what began as a congratulatory visit turned into an unforgettable gift.
"Most people bring flowers to celebrate a new restaurant. Anwar Mammo brought a marker and casually upgraded the wall," he wrote.
The actor further praised the veteran artist, saying that when someone whose words, humour and satire have touched generations decides to leave his artwork behind, it becomes something impossible to replace.
He also remarked that the mural may have become more famous than the restaurant's food itself.
