Parents of Zahir Jaffer, the main accused in the murder case of ex-Pakistan envoy’s daughter Noor Mukadam, challenged the rejection of their bails by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Zakir Jaffer and Asmat Adamjee filed the petition in the apex court through Khawaja Haris Advocate.
The Islamabad police had arrested the parents of Noor Mukadam’s killer on July 25, 2021.
Former Pakistan’s envoy’s daughter had been brutally killed by Zahir Zakir when the former, as per his account, refused to marry him.
The throat of Noor was slit open with a sharp-edged weapon in Islamabad’s F4 area in the precincts of Kohisar police station. Her killer was arrested at the scene of the crime.
Zahir Zakir’s father Zakir Jaffer and mother Asmat Adamjee were taken into custody by the police in the federal capital. Earlier, the police also arrested Zahir Zakir’s domestic helpers Iftikhar and Jamil for investigation.
The arrests of Zakir Jaffer and Asmat Adamjee were made after a detailed statement by Noor Mukadam’s father, Shaukat Mukadam.
The police said Zakir Jaffer, Asmat Adamjee, servants Iftikhar and Jameel were arrested on charges of hiding facts and assistance in crime.
