Most-wanted extortionist Burger shot dead in Karachi

Police busted a network of the Samad Kathiwara group and the most-wanted extortionist-shooter was shot dead by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Special Investigation Unit Amjad Sheikh said that the accused started indiscriminate firing on the police party. 

The extortionist-shooter was identified as Ehteshamuddin alias Asif Burger. SSP Amjad Shaikh said that the accused was involved in more than 13 criminal cases.

The SSP said that during the exchange of fire, one personnel of the SIU received a bullet but remained unhurt as he was wearing a bulletproof jacket.

SSP Amjad Shaikh said that police obtained the criminal record of the dead accused with the help of his fingerprints.

He said that the accused was a colleague of slain criminal Ghulam Qadir, who died last night in a police encounter.

Police recovered arms, bullets and a motorcycle from his possession.

Later, the police shifted the dead body of the accused to a hospital for completion of necessary medico-legal proceedings.
