Grand procession marks Eid Milad-un-Nabi in Dhaka

Dhaka witnessed a grand and spiritually vibrant procession on Saturday as thousands of devotees gathered to commemorate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), 24NewsHD TV reported.   

The annual 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal procession, organized by Anjuman-E-Rahmania Mainia Maizbhandaria, began at the historic Suhrawardy garden (Udyan) in the capital and attracted participants from across Bangladesh.

The procession was led by Shah Sufi Dr Syed Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari, president of the organization and chairman of the Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP).

Beginning from the western gate of Suhrawardy Udyan, the rally moved through important city routes, including Doyal Chattar, Shikkha Bhaban, and Kadam Fountain Road, before returning to the garden to join the Shanti Mahasamabesh.

Devotees, many of whom had traveled from different regions since early morning prayers, carried banners inscribed with "Ya Nabi" and "Ya Rasool" while waving flags and placards.

A massive Bangladeshi national flag was also displayed, symbolizing both faith and unity.

The capital’s streets overflowed with participants celebrating the occasion with reverence and devotion.

Addressing a peace rally at the conclusion of the procession, Dr Syed Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari reminded the crowd that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is a divine blessing for all humanity. He emphasized that following the Prophet’s teachings was essential for building a peaceful, just, and welfare-oriented society.
