A bunch of drug addicts threw acid on a policeman deployed for patrolling the area where their hideout was located in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Constable Dilawar, sources said, was assigned the task to clear Canal Road from drug addicts, who took revenge on him and threw acid on him.

The constable sustained serious injuries in the line of duty and was rushed to Mayo Hospital for treatment.
