CM Maryam to unveil Karobar Card to promote small businesses in Punjab
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced to introduce “Karobar Card” scheme to promote small businesses in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During a meeting in Lahore on Saturday, the chief minister was briefed about salient features of the project. The chief minister was informed that the eligible applicant will obtain Rs1 million loan through Business Card Scheme. The chief minister was agreed to launch “CM Assan Karobar Scheme”.
The applicants will get loan worth Rs300 million through “Chief Minister Assan Karobar Scheme”.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif seek comprehensive plan for small and medium loan scheme. The Punjab government decided to grant loans sans interest for promotion of small and medium business, while separate economic zones will be established in various big cities of Punjab.
The participants of the meeting reviewed various proposals for providing loans to different sectors on priority basis. Three months grace period will be granted after release of first installment of loan. The “Karobar Card” will not be used in restaurants and 10 other areas.
Loan will be granted on priority basis for establishment of any start-up in Nawaz Sharif IT City. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that Punjab government will create employment opportunities by promoting industrial and economic activities in the province.
