'We won't disappoint people,' says Mohsin Naqvi as ICC postpones meeting on Champions Trophy 2025

Federal Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has revealed that the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting on the Champions Trophy 2025 has been postponed once again, reported 241NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.  

Speaking to the media in Lahore, he assured the nation that updates would be shared as soon as decisions are finalized, adding that the public would not be disappointed.

Replying to the media persons' questions about the ICC meeting, he said that PCB had maintained a positive stance, avoiding speculation about conditions being discussed. "Our efforts are focused on achieving decisions that benefit both Pakistan and international cricket," he said, reiterating Pakistan's constructive role in global cricket affairs.

Naqvi also assured that efforts are underway to improve the condition of cricket grounds across Pakistan. 

Speaking about the development plans, Naqvi revealed that land would be purchased in areas lacking cricket facilities while existing grounds would be upgraded to meet modern standards. 

The minister emphasized a focused approach toward activating cricket infrastructure in every city.

Naqvi highlighted the importance of enhancing facilities at the domestic level to produce top-tier players.

 "Our wish is to see Peshawar’s stadium completed soon, alongside the renovation of other grounds," he stated.

On the Champions Trophy 2025 preparations, the PCB chairman reassured the nation, saying, "We will not disappoint the public; everything will turn out better." 

He also pointed out the lack of proper practice venues in Faisalabad and underscored plans to build grounds in Peshawar and other cities to support cricket development.
