Katrina Kaif bruised all over body after shooting Kamli, reveals choreographer
Katrina Kaif’s explosive performance in Kamli from Dhoom 3 did not just look intense on screen, it came at a real physical cost behind the scenes. New revelations from choreographer Shakti Mohan have shed light on just how far Katrina pushed herself to bring the iconic dance number to life.

Over a career spanning more than two decades, Katrina has built a reputation for commanding screen presence across genres, but Kamli remains one of the most defining moments of her filmography.

The 2013 song stunned audiences with its raw energy, fluid movement and fearless sensuality, making it impossible to look away. The performance famously held its own opposite Aamir Khan and quickly became a benchmark for Bollywood dance numbers.

For years, fans speculated whether Katrina actually performed the demanding choreography herself or relied on a body double. That question has now been firmly answered.
In a recent interview with Filmygyan, Shakti Mohan revealed that although she assisted choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant on the song, she was not Katrina’s body double. Katrina performed the routine herself after rehearsing intensely for a month and a half. The only exceptions were a few acrobatic stunts, which were handled by a professional body double flown in from France.

Despite having the option to step back, Katrina reportedly refused to take the easier route. Her determination came at a visible cost, leaving her body battered by the end of filming.

Speaking about Katrina’s relentless work ethic, Shakti said, "There were so many things that a body double could do instead of her, but Katrina insisted that she wants to do. There was this one very difficult step where you were required to do the back arch, but she didn’t give up. She had bruises all over her body. She is very hard-working. Also, after the shoot got over, she sent me a bag to my home with a very nice note."

The bruises were not accidental or unavoidable, they were the result of Katrina deliberately choosing to perform as much of the song herself as possible. Her insistence on authenticity pushed her physically to the edge, but it also elevated Kamli into something unforgettable.

Even years later, Kamli stands as a defining milestone in Katrina Kaif’s career, not only highlighting her dedication as an actor but cementing her status as one of Bollywood’s most fearless and accomplished dancers.
