The negotiations between the officials of the Excise and the Chamkani police bore fruit, leading to the release of the detained Excise squad, 24NewsHD TV channel reports.

However, an investigation into the matter will be conducted on the application of the Chamkani SHO. 

The Chamkani police arrested four Excise personnel near Northern Bypass in Nowshehra earlier in the day.

The incident sparked outrage among the Excise officials, who immediately ceased operations and raced up to the police station.

All the Excise squads, including EIB, from Peshawar, Mardan and Nowshera stopped checking in protest and headed towards the Chamkani 

Excise officials also gave a circular against the police.

Later, talks between the personnel of the two departments bore fruit and the matter was resolved.
