India shuts down Kartarpur corridor
India has suspended operations at the Kartarpur Corridor following its recent missile strikes on Pakistan, halting Sikh pilgrims from undertaking their religious journey to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan, Indian media reported on Wednesday.
According to reports, the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Bureau of Immigration announced the closure of the corridor at Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district “until further orders.” Around 150 pilgrims who arrived on Wednesday morning at the integrated check-post were asked to return home after waiting for 90 minutes.
