Pakistani, Qatari PMs agree to continue efforts for regional peace

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a phone call from the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, on Thursday evening.

During the warm and cordial conversation between the two leaders, the current situation in the region was discussed in detail. Both sides reiterated their commitment to further advancing the ongoing diplomatic efforts for a lasting peace in the region.

Recalling his recent visit to Doha on April 16, Prime Minister Sharif said that his meetings with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Qatari leadership proved to be very useful in building consensus for the promotion of peace in the region.

He said that the people of Pakistan are looking forward to the visit of the Emir of Qatar to Pakistan soon, and his visit will play an important role in strengthening and deepening the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Qatar.

The prime minister of Qatar appreciated Pakistan’s continuous efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. He assured Sharif that Qatar will continue to fully support Pakistan-led diplomatic efforts for peace, security and stability in the Middle East. The two leaders agreed to continue close communication and consultations on all matters of mutual interest.
