Karachi police arrested two persons on charges of torturing an on-duty nurse at the Jinnah hospital on Wednesday.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, attendants of a patient allegedly tortured a nurse, injuring her seriously.

As soon as her colleagues came to know about the incident, they went on a strike and halted their services to show solidarity with her.

The protesting staff called upon the high-ups to bring to book the persons involved in this gruesome act.

They raised the demand for stepping up staff security measures so that they could do the noble job with a sense of security.

However, the protesters called off their strike and resumed their services after the lawmen nabbed the suspects and started an investigation.
