Shalimar Express coach derails near Bahawalpur

A coach of the Lahore-to-Karachi Shalimar Express derailed between Bahawalpur and Sama Satta on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV.

According to railway officials, a coach of the 28 Down Shalimar Express derailed while the train was travelling from Lahore to Karachi.

The derailed coach was detached from the train, while railway officials said no loss of life or property was reported in the incident.

Officials said the train was declared fit and allowed to continue its journey towards its destination.

The railway track between Bahawalpur and Sama Satta has also been cleared for the movement of trains.

The cause of the derailment has not yet been ascertained.
