Five people, including a passer-by, were killed as armed men targeted bike riders in the Maneri Payan area of Swabi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to details, the killings were a result of an old enmity over land and other related disputes.
The four bike riders were ambushed as soon as they passed through the locality by three attackers. As a result, they died on the spot after receiving multiple bullet wounds.
Meanwhile, a passer-by also fell prey to the indiscriminate fire while he was standing outside a shop.
It is reported that one of the targeted men – Salman Shah, a resident of Charsadda – was nominated in a murder case and wanted by the Saru Police Station.
Meanwhile, three people – Afnan, Rashid and Imran – were nominated in this case by the victims’ families. Later, the local police managed to arrest Rashid and Imran while raids were being conducted to capture Afnan.
On the other hand, the final prayers for the victims were offered in Maneri while the bodies of two of them had been sent to their native village.
It is expected that the Swabi DPO will hold a press conference later in the day and share the details of the incident as well as the progress made so far by the police.
