Sindh to keep schools shut until Muharram 10

The Sindh government has decided to keep the educational institutions shut until the 10th of Muharram (August 19), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources told 24News TV channel that the ongoing examinations will continue and will conclude on the 6th of Muharram in Karachi.
The examination authorities have been directed to ensure the coronavirus SOPs implementation.
The decision was taken at a joint meeting of the Education Department and Board and Universities Department in Karachi on Sunday. The meeting was attended by Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah and Universities Minister Ismael Rahu.
The decisions were announced by both the ministers at a news conference after the meeting.
On Saturday, a joint meeting of the National Command Operation Center (NCOC) had decided to end the lockdown in Karachi from Monday, August 09.
In the meeting, the authorities also decided to continue the smart-lockdown in the cities of the province of Sindh to avoid COVID-19 cases.
The meeting also decided to ensure the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in Karachi and Hyderabad.
Federal and Sindh authorities reviewed the situation of coronavirus in schools and decided to take a decision about examinations and schools in the province in the next meeting of the provincial education ministers.
Emphasizing the implementation of corona SOPs during the holy month of Muharramul Haram, the meeting also decided to implement smart lockdowns in the cities with the highest number of corona cases.
