241 out of 9,133 missing persons found dead, SC informed

A report compiled by the Commission on Missing Persons has been submitted to the Supreme Court on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the report, 81 people have reached their homes. There were complaints about 9,133 people who went missing. 

The commission found the whereabouts of 5,574 people, and 3,743 reached their homes.

The report says that 974 missing persons are in detention centres and 616 are in jails. 

It further reveals that as many as 241 dead bodies of missing persons have been found. 

So far, 6,926 cases of missing persons have been disposed of. Till November 30, the number of missing people cases which are sub judice is 2,207.

The commission received 98 cases in November, and 101 cases have been disposed of, the report concluded.
