The Counter Terrorism Department Karachi CTD killed one terrorist and arrested five in an exchange of fire during a raid in Shah Latif Town and save the Karachiities from a big catastrophe, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

When CTD raided the area on a tip-off, the accused terrorists opened fire with latest weapons and also threw grenades which was retaliated firmly by laying siege to the compound by the law enforcement agencies. 

The CTD seized a rickshaw full of explosives from the possession of the accused terrorists along with four Kalashnikovs, four suicide jackets and 15 grenades. The authorities said that investigations are underway to inquire about the terrorist possible links to which groups. 

A top commander of defunct Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP) has been arrested in Karachi, on Saturday. TTP commander Zakirullah alias Shafiullah was nabbed in a joint operation by the Counter Terror Department (CTD) and an intelligence agency.

According to the CTD officials, Zakirullah got training for terror activities from Afghanistan.

Earlier, three alleged militants of banned terror outfit TTP had been arrested during a raid in Karachi on January 29. Reportedly, three accused terrorists were arrested during a combing operation in the Qayyumabad area.
