Balochistan Board forms committee to probe HSSC illegal marks scandal
BBISE Secretary Zia ur Rehman will lead committee: 34 students with their academic documents will be summoned
The Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE) has established a high-level inquiry committee to scrutinise allegations that marks were unlawfully increased for 34 students in the HSSC 2024 results.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the decision comes on the directives of the Balochistan High Court (BHC), which ordered a thorough review of the matter following complaints of irregularities in the examination process in the board.
BBISE Chairman Muhammad Ishaq issued a formal notification announcing the formation of the committee.
According to the document, the inquiry will also incorporate FIR No 12/Q/2025 filed with the Balochistan Anti-Corruption Department, which alleges wrongdoing in the awarding of marks in HSSC 2024 results.
The notification states that BBISE Secretary Zia ur Rehman will lead the committee, while Deputy Secretaries Muhammad Shafi and Muhammad Haroon have been appointed as members.
As per the channel report, notices will also be issued to all 34 students to appear for personal hearings before the committee, and they must produce their original educational certificates along with two attested copies.
Upon completion of its inquiry, the committee will submit a detailed report and recommendations to the board chairman. Any further legal or administrative action will be undertaken by the board and its executive body under the provisions of the BBISE Act 2019.
