Four youths drown while bathing at Chotiario Dam

The festive spirit of Eid turned into a heartbreaking tragedy near Sanghar as four young men drowned while bathing at Chotiario Dam, casting a shadow of mourning over their communities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Sunday.

According to rescue officials, the victims—belonging to the Chauhan, Rajput, and Jat communities—had arrived at the dam for a picnic and to enjoy the Eid holidays.

The tragedy unfolded when one youth began drowning, prompting three others to jump in to save him, only to be overcome by the water themselves.

Local divers later managed to recover the bodies of all four victims. The deceased were reportedly residents of Haj Quran and Khipro, small towns in the Sanghar district.

The bodies were shifted to the Civil Hospital Sanghar by rescue teams and police officials. However, the grieving families chose to take their loved ones home without a post-mortem.
