Meera hits back after journalist calls her ‘psycho’

Pakistani actress Meera reacted strongly after a journalist referred to her as a "psycho" while discussing her film Psycho.

The actress said artists deserve respect for their work and expressed disappointment that the efforts she and Shaan Shahid put into the project are being mocked rather than appreciated.

During the interaction, Meera said if the local audience fail to respect artists, they receive plenty of appreciation elsewhere, including India.

She also stated that Psycho was one of the most difficult roles of her career and required immense courage to bring it to the screen.

The actress said she expected the audience would acknowledge the hard work and praise both Shaan and her for doing such a bold project.

According to Meera, the film tackled challenging themes at a time when such subjects were rarely explored in Pakistani cinema.

Sharing the experience, she said she believed people would salute their bravery and appreciate the effort that went into making the movie rather than reducing it to jokes and labels.

Released on Eid-ul-Azha 2026, Psycho starred Meera alongside Shaan and Sonya Hussyn.

Fans supported Meera in the comments section and pointed out the journalist's attitude.
