The Lahore High Court (LHC) has set aside the decision of the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) for not registering M.Phil Pathologist doctors, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The LHC heard the case of challenging the decision of PMC about non-registration of M.Phil Pathologists.
The court has issued a restraining order on the decision of the PMC.
Justice Jawwad-ul-Hassan of LHC remarked that every year PMC registers M.Phil Pathologists then why there is a change of policy this year. At times, when pathologists’ demand has increased amid the ongoing Covid-19 wave and they have been playing the frontline workers role, the judge remarked.
The court has issued the five-page restraining order and notices to all parties including the PMC for the next hearing.
The judge remarked that the government is taking another wrong step for the pathologists.
Justice Jawwad-ul-Hassan said the plaintiff is the senior pathologist and his rights must be provided.
The PMC advocate argued in the court that pathologists only get training in the laboratory instead of proper house jobs in hospitals.
