Pakistan’s top inspection unit—the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has issued an alert for overseas Pakistanis involved in anti-Pakistan activities on social media.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the FIA in a statement issued here on Sunday warned the overseas Pakistani social media activists about their arrest through Interpol.

In the statement, the FIA has warned the activists and users that they should not publish any objectionable or rebellious posts on social media.

If anyone violates the law his name could be put on the Exit Control List (ECL) and a red notice could be issued to arrest him through Interpol, it stated.

The FIA statement also advised the overseas Pakistani that they should study the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 but the law-abiding citizens have no need to worry as this instruction is only for those who violate the PECA laws.

It is also stated that the FIA has initiated an inquiry against a YouTuber over alleged anti-state statements on social media who tried to create anarchy in Pakistan from abroad.

The FIA also said this YouTube is involved in spreading anti-state lies and fake news so a Red Notice will be issued to that person through Interpol.
