South African cricketers land in Lahore
First group of South Africa’s Test cricket team landed in Lahore on Wednesday morning while the remaining members of the squad are expected to reach the city today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Upon arrival at Allama Iqbal International Airport, the visiting players were escorted to their hotel under tight security arrangements.
Pakistan and South Africa are set to play a two-match Test series, with the first Test scheduled to start at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from October 12 to 16, and the second Test to be held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 20 to 24.

South Africa team enters the series as the reigning champion of the ICC World Test Championship 2023–25.
It should be noted that Pakistan’sTest squad against South Africa has been trimmed. Fast bowler Aamir Jamal and spinner Faisal Akram have been released from the squad, reducing the number of players from 18 to 16.

The two-Test match series will be followed by three T20Is and as many ODIs to be played from 28 October to 8 November.
The squad for the white-ball series will be announced in due course.
