Train operations suspended on five sections due to floods
Railway traffic on five sections was suspended due to heavy rains and floods across Punjab, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Railway track is badly affected in flood-hit areas and various bridges and tracks were damaged due to heavy rains.
Narowal-Sialkot Section is closed from August 27, 2025, due to floodwater. Chak Jhumra Shaheenabad Section Bridge 132 and 134 are also damaged.
Railway traffic on the Wazirabad-Sialkot Section is suspended from September 3, 2025, due to floodwater. And Railway traffic on Jhang-Shaheenabad is also halted from August 29, 2025, as the Bridge over the River Chenab is damaged.
Due to a flood breach, railway traffic on the Khanewal Shorkot Section is suspended. Railway traffic will also be affected due to damage to the railway track.
Railway traffic was closed as the Ugoki-Sialkot track was closed as floodwater the track.
A spokesman of Pakistan Railways said that when the flood water decreased, then any decision about reopening of railway track will be taken.
A detailed examination of the railway track will be conducted after the floodwater. In light of the inspection report final decision will be taken.
