KP Police beat Sindh Police to win Inter-Provincial Police Hockey Tournament
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police defeated Sindh Police 3-1 in the final of the Inter-Provincial Police Hockey Tournament at the KHA Hockey Ground, clinching the championship title, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.
The final remained highly competitive, with both teams making repeated attempts to score.
KP Police led 2-1 during the final quarter before extending their advantage to seal a convincing victory.
Sindh IG Javed Alam Odho attended the final as the chief guest.
Sindh Police Sports Board Chairman Peer Muhammad Shah was also present.
Congratulating the KP Police team on their victory, IG Odho also praised the organisers and Sindh Police players for their performance.
He particularly appreciated Peer Muhammad Shah and members of the Sindh Police Sports Board for their efforts to promote sports among police personnel.
He also acknowledged the contributions of Karachi Hockey Association organisers Imtiaz Ali Shah, Gulfraz Ahmed and Haider Hussain, as well as former Olympians Hanif Khan and Wasim Feroz.
Odho announced that Sindh Police would also organise a football tournament across Pakistan and said the department’s teams would participate not only in hockey but also in football and other sports.
