Despite the fact that it was former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan who had moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for his transfer from District Jail Attock to Adiyala Jail in Rawalpindi, police have instead shifted the PTI workers from Attock Jail to Adiyala Jail, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Sources told 24News TV channel that 85 PTI workers, who had been rounded up following the incidents of violence on May 9, were secretly shifted to Adiyala Jail in large police vans because, in the opinion of authorities, the presence of such a large number of PTI workers in the jail, and that, too, at a time when their party chairman was also in the same jail could lead to security issues.

Imran, who had been sentenced to three years in prison in the Toshakhana reference on August 5, 2023, had moved the court for his transfer to Adiala Jail in view of better facilities available there.
