Rescue, relief operations contiue after heavy rains in Upper Chitral

The Pakistan Army has launched relief and rescue operations in Upper Chitral after torrential rains triggered flash floods, damaging roads, bridges, houses and agricultural land in several areas of the district.

According to details, heavy rains caused flash floods in different parts of Upper Chitral, severely affecting roads, streets, agricultural fields and residential areas. A large quantity of soil and debris accumulated on roads, disrupting transportation and adversely affecting routine life in the affected areas.

Personnel of the Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa North reached the affected areas amid continuing rainfall and initiated relief activities. The personnel provided necessary assistance to residents affected by the flooding.

Several people trapped in floodwater were safely rescued, while heavy machinery was deployed to clear blocked roads and remove debris, restoring traffic flow in the affected areas.

Local residents appreciated the timely response and relief efforts of the Pakistan Army and paid tribute to the security forces for assisting people during the difficult situation.

The security forces reiterated their commitment to standing by the people during natural disasters and other emergencies and continuing relief and humanitarian assistance whenever required.
