Federal govt orders major bureaucratic reshuffle, appoints CFOs in key ministries

The federal government on Tuesday ordered large-scale appointments, transfers and postings in the high and middle tiers of the bureaucracy.

New appointments have also been made in Pakistan Railways and the Police Service of Pakistan. The Establishment Division has issued official notifications of all decisions.

According to the notifications, Additional Secretary Planning Division Muhammad Bashir Khetran, a Grade-21 officer of the Secretariat Group, has been transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division. Additional Secretary Kashmir Affairs Division Kamran Rehman has been assigned temporary charge of Secretary Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Division.

Farrukh Mehboob, who was awaiting appointment, has been posted as Deputy Secretary in the Economic Affairs Division, while Deputy Secretary Finance Division Afifa Shajia has been transferred and placed under the Punjab government. Deputy Secretary Muhammad Ashraf Khan has been transferred to the Ministry of Interior.

The transfer of an officer from the Provincial Liaison Office to Pakistan Baitul Mal Regional Office Quetta has been cancelled and he has been directed to report to the Establishment Division. The services of Section Officer Finance Division Hamza Sharifzada have been returned to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), while Section Officer Farhan Ahmed has been transferred from the Establishment Division to the Overseas Pakistanis Division.

In the Police Service of Pakistan, the services of Grade-20 officer and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Dr. Muhammad Khurram Rashid have been placed at the disposal of the National Police Bureau. Grade-18 police officer Kamran Khan has been transferred from the Sindh government to the Balochistan government.

The government has also appointed Chief Finance Officers (CFOs) in several federal ministries and divisions. Kamran Ali Hashmi has been appointed CFO of the Power Division, Ali Imran Khokhar CFO of the Economic Affairs Division, Asif Hameed CFO of the National Food Security and Research Division and Sajid Mahmood Raja CFO of the Planning Division.

Ali Imran Khokhar was previously serving as Director General Accounts in the CGA Office Islamabad, while Sajid Mahmood Raja was serving as Director General Audit Gilgit-Baltistan.

Under separate orders, Muhammad Akif Rashid, who was awaiting appointment, has been posted as a Section Officer in the Prime Minister’s Office. OSD Saadat Ali Bukhari has been appointed as Section Officer in the Communications Division. Areeb Ahmed, a Grade-18 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, has been transferred from Gilgit-Baltistan to the Punjab government.

Meanwhile, following the approval of the Prime Minister, Dr. Rabia Jafri and Basit Jamil have been appointed as software developers in the IT Directorate of Pakistan Railways on a three-year contract basis.

In another notification, the resignation of Abdullah Khan Tareen, a Grade-17 Section Officer of the Office Management Group, has been accepted.

The Establishment Division has issued official notifications for all the appointments, transfers, postings and administrative decisions.
