GB EC withholds election results of five constituencies

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Raja Shehbaz Khan on Tuesday ordered withholding the election results in five constituencies and re-polling at a few polling stations in these constituencies on June 15, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking to the media, Khan said that he had ordered the concerned returning officers to withhold the results.

According to the notification, voting would be held again in GBA-8 (Skardu-II), GBA-13 (Astore-I), in three constituencies of district Diamer namely GBA-15 (Diamer-I), GBA-16 (Diamer-II), and GBA-17 (Diamer-III).

The GB CEC, however, claimed that the elections were held in a very peaceful atmosphere.
