Huge sums allocated for Sindh’s development projects under federal govt’s PSDP

Huge amounts have been earmarked for development projects in Sindh under the federal government’s Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Billions of rupees have been allocated for water security projects, including K-IV (Greater Karachi Bulk Water Supply Scheme), in the provincial budget for the next financial year, 2026-27.

Similarly, a huge amount has been set aside for the construction of an IT Park and industrial projects in the province.

Funds have also been earmarked for the upgradation of the province’s infrastructure.

Rs122 billion have been allocated for the construction of Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway, while Rs22.50 billion for the Thar Rail Connectivity project and Rs31.75 billion for K-IV.

Likewise, Rs3 billion have been earmarked for building an industrial park in Karachi, Rs11.50 billion for the construction of an IT Park and Rs5.94 billion for the Kalri Baghar (KB) Feeder Canal.

Funds have also been reserved for Karachi Urban Infrastructure Development Package and Hyderabad Infrastructure Development Package.

Rs15 billion had been set aside for the construction of the Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway during the ongoing financial year, 2025-26, while Rs7 billion for the Thar Rail Connectivity project, Rs8.20 billion for the K-IV project, and Rs6 billion for the IT Park.

However, amounts have been raised for all these projects in the provincial budget for the next FY.
