Late Irrfan Khan's wife Sutapa Sikdar praises Hajra Yamin performance in Doctor Bahu
Hajra Yamin's performance in Doctor Bahu is winning hearts and the appreciation is now coming from both sides of the border.
The latest voice to join the list of admirers is Indian writer and producer Sutapa Sikdar, the wife of the late legendary actor Irrfan Khan.
Responding to online discussions about Hajra's performance, Sikdar described the actress as an "underrated gem."
In her comment, she noted that Hajra has consistently delivered strong performances even when paired with less experienced co-stars.
She further highlighted that Doctor Bahu is a well written and well directed project and that Hajra shines even brighter because of her command over the role.
Responding to Sikdar's comment, Hajra expressed her gratitude and revealed that she has admired Irrfan Khan's work for years.
"I'm at a loss for words. Thank you so much for your support, it means so much to me. I've been a fan and student of the late Sir Irrfan Khan's work for as long as I can remember, so this is incredibly special," she wrote.
The cross border recognition comes shortly after several Pakistani celebrities also celebrated Hajra's performance.
Actress Kubra Khan shared a photo of Hajra and affectionately called her a "Talent ki Dukaan."
Similarly, actress Rabya Kulsoom was full of praise for Hajra's work, describing her performance as a "masterclass."
She said Hajra's portrayal was so powerful that it left her emotional.
As praise continues to pour in from fellow actors, critics, and audiences alike, many social media users believe Doctor Bahu is finally giving Hajra Yamin the spotlight she has deserved for years.
