FIR lodged against Imran Khan for inciting violence

An FIR has been lodged against PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan in connection with Wednesday’s chaos and violent incidents in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The case was registered on the complaint of DSP Raiwind.

According to the FIR, a jatha (gathering) of up to 400 people including armed persons was involved in the violence and they were using threatening language against the national security institutions.

The FIR says they hurled threats against institutions on the instigation of Imran Khan, Fawad Chaudhry, Hammad Azhar and Farrukh Habib.
The charged crowd pelted stones and used batons against the police which resulted in injuries to 13 police officers and officials, the FIR says, adding six of the protesters were also injured due to the stone pelting.

On Monday, the provincial capital police also lodged an FIR against PTI Chairman Imran Khan, party leader Shibli Faraz and 150 workers for harassing and hurling life threats at an Islamabad police team when it visited Zaman Park to arrest the former prime minister on Sunday.

The FIR was registered by the Race Course police on the complaint of Islamabad Secretariat police SHO Nadeem Tahir.

Another FIR was registered against Imran Khan on Monday at a police station in Quetta over his alleged remarks against state institutions and their offices and spreading hatred against them.

Sections 153A, 124A and 505 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 have been added to the FIR lodged by citizen Abdul Khalil Kakar, who said the PTI chief’s statement is tantamount to destroying public peace and order.

The Quetta police carrying Khan’s arrest warrants also reached Lahore yesterday to apprehend him.

Plea filed to modify petition seeking Imran’s disqualification for hiding daughter

A petition has been filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to modify the petition for the disqualification of PTI Chairman Imran Khan over hiding his alleged daughter Tyrian White in the nomination papers.

The new petition was filed by the same petitioner who had filed the first one.

“Imran Khan won seven seats in the by-elections. The election commission issued a notification of Imran Khan’s success from NA-45, Kurram,” the petitioner said.

“Imran Khan did not disclose Tyrian as his daughter in the new nomination papers. Due to the recent development, a modification in the petition is necessary,” he added.

“Despite modification, there will be no change in the nature of the case,” he stated.

IHC dismisses registrar’s office objections to Imran’s plea

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday dismissed all the objections to the plea of PTI Chairman Imran Khan to appear before the court through video link.

The IHC chief justice directed to number the petition.

LHC reserves verdict on plea against ban on Imran’s speeches

The Lahore High Court (LHC) Thursday reserved the judgement on the admissibility of the petition against the ban by Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) on airing Imran Khan’s speeches.

LHC judge Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza had heard the petition of Imran Khan.

ATC hearing

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad put off the hearing of Imran Khan’s plea for bail in the case registered at Sangjani police station till 3:00 PM.

ATC judge Raja Jawad Abbas heard the petition.

NAB summons

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Imran Khan at 2:30 PM today for investigation against him in Toshakhana case.

In a call-up notice, the PTI chairman has been directed to appear before the joint investigation team.

The NAB has summoned former first lady Bushra Bibi too for investigations.

The summon notices had been issued to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi on February 17 last.

Exemption granted in judge threat case

The District and Sessions Court on Thursday approved Imran Khan’s application for exemption from appearance in the judge threat case.

Judge Rana Mujahid Rahim approved the plea and adjourned the case until March 13.
