Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Sunday revealed that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has admitted in court that Shehbaz Sharif had committed no corruption, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi claimed that there was no evidence of money laundering present against PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif.

Talking to media men in Lahore along with Ahsan Iqbal and Rana Sanaullah, Khaqan Abbasi said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) told the court that Shehbaz Sharif had never taken kickbacks. The PTI ministers are only levelling allegations against the PML-N president, he added.

The former premier further asked why Shehbaz Sharif was sent to jail when the anti-graft watchdog had no proof of corruption.

“The NAB chairman is not above the law. They have to answer our queries. What link these PTI ministers have with the NAB,” he said and added “Soon there would be time that these people will not be allowed on the first flight out.”

Khaqan Abbasi maintained that there was no evidence that Shehbaz Sharif had committed corruption and there was no evidence of TT against the PML-N president.

“After becoming the leader of the opposition as a result of the 2018 elections, Shehbaz Sharif had spent half of the time in prison,” he said and added “Every day these PTI ministers declare that they have evidence against Shehbaz. Where is it? For what crime the NAB put the PML-N president in jail.”

Khaqan Abbasi said if the government did not submit the evidence in court then their claims of having two volumes of proofs are worthless. “Whether you have 55 volumes or 5500 volumes, there must be something concrete in them,” he added.

The former prime minister said the NAB had admitted in court that Shehbaz Sharif had committed in corruption. “Now I challenge Imran Khan and his minister to show on TV if they have any evidence against Shehbaz Sharif,” he dared the government.

Ahsan Iqbal

Senior PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal said Fawad Chaudhry and Shahzad Akbar’s remarks on the court’s decision tantamount to contempt of court.

He said the Lahore High Court is not FIA where government’s dictation works. “Imran Khan is afraid of PML-N’s successes and he may try to find some solace by taking such mean actions against the PML-N,” he added.

Rana Sanaullah

Another senior PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah said Shehbaz Sharif will go abroad, get medical treatment and will return. “No matter what the government does, Shehbaz Sharif will travel abroad,” the PML-N leader said categorically.

He said “The Ehtesab drama is not the ventilator and will collapse very soon. The government’s reaction to the court decision is contempt of court.”
