Strong financial governance must for economic growth, says Dar

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has emphasized that transparency, accountability, and strong financial governance are essential for sustainable economic growth, investor confidence, and resilience, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking at the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) Conference in Lahore on Saturday, Ishaq Dar highlighted the transformative impact of digital technologies on the accounting profession and stressed the need to adapt to evolving global trends.

Underscoring Pakistan's immense economic potential, he noted that strategic reforms, regional connectivity, fiscal discipline, and institutional strengthening are positioning Pakistan as a strong and sustainable economy.

Ishaq Dar also highlighted Pakistan's constructive role in promoting regional peace, stability, dialogue, and economic cooperation.

He emphasized regional collaboration through SAFA, youth empowerment, and the Government of Pakistan's commitment to reforms that promote efficiency, accountability, sustainable development, and shared prosperity.

Dar also congratulated Institute of Cost and Management Accountants Pakistan on completing 75 years of excellence in advancing the accounting and finance profession and contributing to institutional development in Pakistan.
