German ambassador meets Ch Shujaat Hussain to explore joint ventures
Discuss trade, investment, and technology collaboration in Punjab
Germany’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Anna Lepel, called on Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain to discuss matters of mutual interest and ways to enhance bilateral trade and investment.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the meeting was also attended by Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Industry, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, and Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Chaudhry Salik Hussain.
During the discussion, both sides emphasised the need for practical steps to increase trade between Pakistan and Germany.
In the meeting, opportunities for joint ventures between Pakistani and German investors were also explored, reflecting a growing interest in bilateral economic collaboration.
Chaudhry Shafaq Hussain briefed the German envoy on investment opportunities across Punjab, highlighting the province’s special economic zones, industrial estates, and infrastructure designed to attract both domestic and international investors.
Projects such as the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park in Sheikhupura and the upcoming Garment City, aimed at textile sector investors, were specifically highlighted.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain stressed that Germany’s advanced technology could greatly benefit Pakistan, especially in skill development and value addition in the salt sector.
The PML-Q president noted that collaboration with Germany would strengthen industrial expertise and innovation in Pakistan.
Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain added that skilled Pakistani professionals are in high demand internationally, and German investment could create further opportunities in Punjab.
The German ambassador highlighted ongoing skill development collaborations with Pakistan and expressed a commitment to expanding cooperation in multiple sectors.
The meeting also included Dr Imran Hashmi, Director of the Punjab Investment Board, and leading industrialists, underlining a strong commitment to enhancing economic and technological ties between Pakistan and Germany.
