Punjab allocates Rs 400m to enhance urban beautification

The Punjab government has taken a significant step toward promoting urban beautification by approving a comprehensive plan to strengthen the Punjab Horticulture Authority (PHA) and upgrade its machinery, 24NewsHD TV reported.

Under the initiative, the provincial government will provide Rs 400 million as initial capital to the PHA through a supplementary grant in the fiscal year 2025–26.

According to sources, the funds will be utilized for horticulture development, landscaping, and beautification projects across the province.

Officials described the allocation as a key move toward making the PHA financially stronger and more efficient.

The decision is expected to accelerate tree plantation drives and beautification projects in Lahore and other major cities of Punjab.

As per the plan, all beautification and horticultural schemes will be executed on modern lines, ensuring greener, cleaner, and more attractive city environments.

The government hopes that the timely release of funds will help expedite the completion of various urban renewal and landscaping projects aimed at enhancing the aesthetic appeal and environmental quality of urban areas.
