Rajanpur van fire toll climbs to eight

The death toll in an incident of fire in a passenger van near the Rojhan area of Rajanpur has climbed up to eight as two more girls succumbed to their injuries on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The authorities had said that the passenger van carrying a wedding party caught fire after its gas cylinder exploded near Rojhan Toll Plaza on Indus Highway Saturday.
As many as 17 injured people were still under treatment at the hospital.
The funeral prayers of the eight passengers were offered at Marri Bangla in Tehsil Rojhan on Sunday. A large number of locals attended the funeral prayers.
It is reported that no leader from the ruling party participated in the funeral prayers, however, PML-N divisional vice president Khizar Khan Mazari attended the funerals.
Dr Inamullah Jamali, MS at District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, declared an emergency and directed all doctors, paramedics and other staff to remain alert while additional beds were also arranged to deal with the situation.
