The government has decided to take action under CrPC against the officials of the Petroleum Division and Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority who involved in the fuel crisis last year.
According to sources, the government took the step following a cabinet committee’s report on the fuel crisis last year. The insiders said the government will take action over temporary licences for marketing companies, illegal joint venture and unlawful storage setup.
It asked setting up of a monitoring cell in the Petroleum Division and a new testing lab. It further recommended the government stop relying on the data from the advisory committee and advised it establish a new testing lab.
