President Zardari to confer Hilal-i-Imtiaz on Arshad Nadeem

President Asif Ali Zardari has directed to confer Hilal-i-Imtiaz upon Pakistan’s Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem for his record performance in Paris Games, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

President Zardari will give away the civil award to Arshad Nadeem in recognition of his outstanding services in the field of sports at a special ceremony to be held at Aiwan-i-Sadr.

On the President’s directive, the President's House has sent a letter to the Cabinet Division to award Hilal-i-Imtiaz to Arshad Nadeem, who made the nation proud in the field of sports with excellent performance.

Arshad Nadeem's outstanding success at the global level has become a source of pride for the nation, the President’s House said.

The President will confer the civil award upon Arshad Nadeem under Article 259(2) of the Constitution.

According to the Constitution, the President of the State can announce awards for the citizens in recognition of their valuable services in various fields.
