Illegal hunting of rare wildlife continues in Daharki’s desert region, sparking outrage

The illegal hunting of rare and protected wildlife species continues unabated in the desert areas of Daharki, with another disturbing incident surfacing just days after a similar case, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday. 

Following the unlawful killing of a rare nilgai earlier this week, poachers have now targeted a rare deer, slaughtering it and posting a video of the act on social media.

The latest video, which has gone viral on multiple platforms, clearly shows hunters killing and slaughtering a rare deer after capturing it. Social media users have expressed outrage over the brazen act, demanding immediate action against the perpetrators.

Only a few days ago, a similar video showing the illegal hunting and butchering of a rare nilgai in the same region had gone viral, raising serious concerns over the safety of endangered species in Sindh’s desert belt.

Despite the mounting evidence and public pressure, the Sindh Wildlife Department has yet to take action against those involved in the latest incident.

Critics have accused the authorities of negligence, warning that continued inaction will encourage further poaching and could push rare species towards extinction.

Wildlife experts stress that both the nilgai and the deer are protected under provincial laws, and hunting them without a special permit is a punishable offence.

They have urged the government to strengthen enforcement, increase patrolling in vulnerable areas, and hold offenders accountable to protect the region’s fragile ecosystem.
