Ex-Punjab CM Hamza for holding LB polls in country simultaneously

Former Punjab chief minister and PML-N Vice President Hamza Shehbaz on Tuesday demanded that the National Assembly should pass a bill under which local bodies’ (LB) elections should be held across the country simultaneously, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking to reporters in Lahore, he said that people would get relief when powers would be transferred from top to bottom.

He added that the PML-N had always tried to work for the betterment of people. “These were the policies of the PML-N government which saved the country when it had reached the brink of default.”

Hamza claimed that he and his father, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had to spend time in jail, but they never compromised on their principles.

The former Punjab CM was of the view that more work needed to be done to improve the country’s economy. “And PM Shehbaz is doing exactly that.”

He went on to say that the PML-N workers were the party’s asset. “They endured hardships during a dictatorship, but never quit the party.”
