Non-bailable arrest warrant issued for Aleema Khan in protest case

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Aleema Khan after she failed to appear in court for the hearing of a case related to the November 26 protest. 

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Aleema Khan and her lawyer were absent during the proceedings, prompting the court to declare that there was no justification or exemption for her non-appearance.

The special prosecutor, Zaheer Shah, appeared in court along with his team and requested the inclusion of Salman Niaz, Assistant Director of the National Counter-Corruption Investigation (NCCI), as a witness. 

The court approved the request, formally adding Niaz to the list of witnesses in the case.

The ATC further directed that the next hearing in the matter be postponed until tomorrow.

The case relates to Aleema Khan’s involvement in the protest held on November 26, which led to the registration of a formal complaint under the anti-terrorism framework.
