PTI rejects Qureshi’s arrest reports

Ex-FM urges workers to continue protest ‘peacefully’

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has rejected the reports about the arrest of Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

According to a spokesperson for the PTI, the reports of the arrest of Shah Mehmood Qureshi are ‘not correct’.

In a video, Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi shared Imran Khan’s message with his supporters and the party activists, saying 

Imran Khan wants his supporters and workers to stand firm, he said and quoted the party chief as saying: “My morale is high and you should not lose heart.” 

The former foreign minister also shared the details of the proceedings of the case related to the arrest of Imran Khan, staying the ex-PM was produced in the court and his 8-day physical remand was obtained. Now he will be produced in the court on 17th of May, he said. 

He continued: Imran Khan is doing well and more determined than ever. PTI has always been peaceful. Our struggle has always been within the constitution and law and we have to continue this policy.

“The consultation with the lawyers is going on. A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the decision of the High Court. The next course of action will be formulated by taking the political leadership and lawyers into confidence. The workers are requested to continue the protest but remain peaceful."
