CDF Asim Munir warns India of 'far-reaching' consequences for any misadventure

Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has warned that no compromise would be accepted on Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national dignity, saying any future aggression against the country would carry serious and far-reaching consequences.

Addressing a grand commemorative ceremony at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Sunday morning to mark the first anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq”, the army chief said the effects of any future military adventurism against Pakistan would be “extremely dangerous, long-lasting and painful”.

Beginning his address with the recitation of a Quranic verse, Field Marshal Asim Munir said the day was a matter of pride for the nation because Pakistan had repeatedly exposed and defeated what he described as the enemy’s miscalculations.

He stated that “Marka-e-Haq” was not merely a conventional conflict between two countries or armed forces but rather a decisive battle between two ideologies.

The field marshal said India sought to alter the regional balance of power by subjecting Pakistan to military aggression and diplomatic isolation. However, he added that such ambitions were beyond India’s capabilities and would never succeed against Pakistan.

The CDF said truth emerged victorious during “Marka-e-Haq”, while aggression suffered defeat. He said Pakistan had delivered a strong and effective response to Indian military actions.

Referring to “Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos”, he said Pakistan, its people and its armed forces had achieved an unprecedented success through the grace of Allah.

Field Marshal Asim Munir paid tribute to all martyrs and veterans associated with the conflict, particularly women, elderly citizens and children who lost their lives.

“We consider the sacrifices of our martyrs as a sacred trust, our strength as a responsibility, and our success as a blessing from Almighty Allah,” he said.

He also claimed that India had suffered heavy human and financial losses during the conflict and would continue to bear the consequences in the years ahead.

The field marshal confirmed that Fatah missiles and Pakistan Air Force fighter pilots had successfully targeted more than 26 enemy military sites during the operation. 

He added that Pakistan’s defence was now fully capable of resisting any external aggression.

Discussing future warfare, the army chief said modern and future conflicts would increasingly involve multi-domain operations, including the use of long-range weapons, drones, cyber capabilities and artificial intelligence.

He announced that a Defence Forces Headquarters had been established to modernise Pakistan’s armed forces in line with evolving military requirements.

Field Marshal Asim Munir also described Pakistan’s strategic mutual defence agreement with Saudi Arabia as a major diplomatic achievement.

The ceremony at GHQ Rawalpindi was attended by Chief of Air Staff Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and Chief of Naval Staff Naveed Ashraf.

During the event, the army chief laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha. The air chief and naval chief also laid floral wreaths at the memorial.

Smartly turned-out contingents of the tri-services guard presented a salute to the military leadership, while the chief guest inspected contingents from all three armed forces.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said Pakistan is currently hosting historic peace negotiations through what he described as effective, responsible and neutral diplomacy, while also warning that India was once again resorting to terrorism after finding conventional war against Pakistan impossible.

The Chief of Defence Forces said Pakistan remained committed to peace and regional stability through diplomatic engagement.

At the same time, he alleged that India, after recognising the impossibility of succeeding in a conventional conflict with Pakistan, was turning once again towards what he described as the “ugly path of terrorism”.

The Field Marshal urged Afghanistan to completely eliminate terrorist centres and sanctuaries operating from its territory. He also paid tribute to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, as well as to Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies.

“I salute the brave people of Pakistan, especially those in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, along with the courageous personnel of the armed forces and law enforcement institutions,” he said.

Field Marshal Asim Munir vowed that every innocent Pakistani’s blood would be avenged and declared that the war against terrorism would continue until the last militant was eliminated.

He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued political, diplomatic and moral support for the people of Kashmir, saying the country would stand by Kashmiris on every front.

“Our destination is the vision dreamed of by our forefathers,” he said, adding that Pakistan’s green crescent flag symbolised hope while its armed forces remained organised and ready at all times.

The army chief said the Pakistani nation was the country’s greatest strength and that the armed forces drew their power from the people.

Concluding his remarks, Field Marshal Munir expressed confidence in Pakistan’s future, saying the country remained unconquerable in the past and would continue to remain unconquerable in the years ahead. 

Marka-e-Haq: Grand ceremony held at PMA Kakul
 

A grand ceremony was held at the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul today to commemorate the completion of one year of Marka-e-Haq. Commandant PMA was the chief guest on the occasion.

A large number of officers and soldiers attended the ceremony and paid tribute to the martyrs and ghazis of Marka-e-Haq. The chief guest laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and offered Fateha.
